Lesson Plan #2: Assessment

Procedure:
  • Taking screenshots of student’s scores on the game
    1. The students will play this game a minimum of ten times
    2. I will take a picture of each student’s work on the recipe card; five cards for each student
    3. The students should be able to complete five out of the ten recipes successfully
  • “Horrendous Soup” worksheet conclusion
    1. I will collect the worksheets from the students after they have discussed with me how they got the answers and what they came up with
    2. This will show me if they understand the conversion method based on the showing of their work
 Instruments:
  • "Horrendous Soup" online game
  • "Horrendous Soup" worksheet
Planning Assessment:
The assessments show me how well students are able to convert various units within and out of the metric system. Based on their scores presented at the end of the online game and what they are able to bring to the worksheet afterwards, I will know if they understood the lesson and activity and are able to convert in various scenarios. The assessment for both the online game and the worksheet promote student engagement in higher order thinking by the use of creativity for designing what kind of soups will be created before they convert the measurement units for the ingredients.
