Checkli Assessment Checklist
I assessed Jordan's work that she sent me for an overview example and she achieved the majority of the points that connected to the objectives. The standards were clearly met since she worked on her researching process and was able to present her information in a slideshow presentation format. She also was able to present at least one interesting fact that she learned during her own process and the process of the other classmates sharing. Based on what Jordan was able to complete, in the tight time frame we had, she was able to comprehend the basic information of the planets, comprehend basic information of the moon through her extensive knowledge of how the gravitational poles work, comprehend features and climate-type of Uranus, comprehend features and climate-type of Neptune, comprehend features and climate-type of Jupiter, comprehend features and climate-type of Mercury, and comprehend how climate, features, and distance can affect humans in space. She knew that Pluto was no longer a planet, but she was not able to post her information on that assigned planet because the lesson was cut short.
I feel that this lesson was very well thought out and implemented based on materials, the use of technology, and how well the standards and objectives were met. My only drawback was that I did not manage my time to my advantage and there were many ways that I could have managed it better based on how I should have given student instruction in a short and efficient manner. The lesson was fun and engaging for my students but it would have been nice if we could have finished it entirely. That way, they could gain more information and learning from each other from each student's presentation. I read my peer reflections that I got back from my students and it was unanimous that I needed to manage my time better with this lesson and the small amount of time I had to deliver it. It was also unanimous that it was an exciting way to learn about the solar system and they would have enjoyed it if they got to finish it completely.
